[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] Cat on Lap with Dogs in Costume

You never know what you’ll encounter on the streets of New York City.  A few weeks ago, I happen to come across this guy just north of Times Square.  He was riding in a wheelchair, with a cat on his lap, blowing a whistle as his three dogs in costume came running behind… it’s the video you have to see!

The guy wasn’t really talking, he certainly wasn’t asking for money, but he was more than happy to let the crowd take all the photos and video they wanted.  In the end, he headed north on Broadway and back off into the busy rush hour crowd.

THE 411

What: random guy with animals

Where: New York City

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

If this was some kind of panhandler show, he certainly wasn’t asking.  Kudos to him though, for training his animals to obey his whistle commands on the busy street!  None of my pets would ever have listened that well, in the middle of all those people and traffic.

Jersey Joe checks out the fun side of New York City’s playground, Coney Island in this fun video quiz!

Coney Island was settled by Dutch settlers in the 17th century.  It became a popular beach and amusement park area starting in the 19th century.  Once air and auto travel became more affordable, Coney Island lost it’s luster as city dwellers were able to visit other, more far off locals.  After falling into disrepair during the 1980’s, Coney Island has made a major comeback with the opening of Luna Park, more rides, restaurants, beach bars. and independent attractions.

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

One of my favorite places for fun in New York City.  Despite having a bad reputation and becoming downright dangerous years ago, Coney Island has been cleaned up and is once again, an exciting place for both friends and families.

Make sure you check it out, whether you’re a local or a tourist on vacation.  After all, it’s the birthplace of the hot dog!

[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] Let’s Play the 70s Family Feud 2

Jersey Joe once again challenges his friends to play a round of the 1970s Richard Dawson classic – Family Feud.  Will the survey answers from the 70s be the same as if the question was asked today?  Let’s find out!

Family Feud went on the air in 1976 with host Richard Dawson.  Feud is a spin-off of the Super Match round from another popular 70’s game show Match Game, where Dawson was a popular panelist.

Dawson hosted the show until 1985.  He also returned for a single season in 1994.  Since Dawson, several other hosts have taken over, with Steve Harvey, the most recent, receiving the series highest syndicated ratings ever since he took over in 2010.

Feud originally aired on the ABC television network.  It moved to CBS in the 1980’s and has is currently seen in syndication on local stations, as it always has been.

Feud is also seen in around the world and has been named the 3rd greatest TV game show of all time.

But, once again we see how the times have changed.  While the 5 answers on the board are still correct today, there are a few more, modern answers that would have definitely made the list.

I love Family Feud.  If you are a regular viewer of this blog, then you most surely know that.  This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about the show, but it’s the first time I’ve got to challenge my friends into playing a round.  We will definitely have to do this again!
