Jersey Joe chats about the US town, where there’s a law on the books, making dancing a crime!
THE 411
What: Illegal dancing law
Where: Purdy, Missouri
Enforcement: little known – little enforced
JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS
There are tons of old fashioned, hidden laws on the books like this all across the country. Who knows what the town founders where thinking, when they came up with this!
As I find more wacky laws — I’ll be sure to blog about them. If you know of any crazy laws that are on the books where you live or if you know of someone who got busted for a really wacky reason, drop me a line of twitter @JerseyJoe50.
She could be in trouble with the law, if she was dancing in one Missouri town.
Jersey Joe checks out some weird, hilarious, and fun facts about the month of April.
THE 411
Name: April
What: fourth month of the year
JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:
Once April hits, we’re generally 1/4 of the way through the year! It also means that we’re less than 2 months away from summer! How’s that for food for thought!!! :}
Jersey Joe discusses what “having a fast one” is. The odds are… you’ve had a fast one, too!
THE 411
What: fast one
Means: having a quick beer at a local bar
JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:
I learned this from my grandfather decades, ago. However, it’s hard to have just a “fast one.” Have you? Most of us know, that when you meet your co-workers at your favorite local watering hole — that you won’t be having just one quick beer — and leave.

Jersey Joe and his friend Simon embark on an elevator race at the World Trade Center PATH train station. Place your bets — who do you think will win?
After being destroyed in the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks, the World Trade Center PATH station reopened offering train service between New York City and Jersey City and Newark, New Jersey on November 23, 2003. The second station was only to serve as a temporary station, utilizing the same design footprint and style as the original station.
Plans were quickly drawn up for a spectacular new station, that will serve as a tourist attraction and showplace of Lower Manhattan. The new transit hub, currently under construction, will once again connect PATH trains with New York City subway trains, without commuters ever having to go upstairs into the elements. Part of this new transit hub will include shops, restaurants, bars, news stands, and more for the thousands of commuters that will use this station on a daily basis.
The entire project is expected to open in 2015, but for now two small parts are open. Those being a walkway that connects the PATH trains to Brookfield Place and ferries and Track 1, which serves commuters arriving and bound for Hoboken, New Jersey. While work continues, all trains will often use this single track.
THE 411
What: World Trade Center Transportation Hub
Purpose: to connect PATH trains with New York City subway
Location: New York City
Open: PATH Track 1 trains from Hoboken to New York City
It’s not often that you find two glass elevators like this back to back, where you can have a race!
What is open of the station, so far, is really spectacular, but WAY over budget. I just hope that somehow, all of this money flying out of my pocket to ride the PATH and support this station’s reconstruction, will be worth it in the end.

Jersey Joe checks out some funny shots of people captured in the Google Maps street view car.
Google maps street view first started as an experiment, where they packed a computer and a camera into the back of an SUV and drove around, capturing whatever they found on their journey. It all started back in 2007, but now they have expanded to 7 continents and there’s no stopping their little car with the 360 degree camera on top.
Even in my neighborhood, they’ve shot the front of my apartment at least three times. They continue to not only update the maps and images they already have, but continue to constantly add more streets.
THE 411
What: Google street view
Purpose: online search tool
Launched: 2007
JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:
As I said in my blog, I believe this is one of the most incredible inventions so far of the 21st century. In fact, they have already captured history in the making. Several buildings burnt down just around the block from my apartment and Google Maps have captured what they looked like before the fire several years ago and have now driven back around the area to capture what the block looks like today.
This is extremely helpful in times of disaster or when you want to take a look back at a nostalgic photo, or see what your old neighborhood looks like today.
Try it out! Enter your home address and see what their car and camera has captured. If they don’t have you yet, rest assured – they will!
At least, we get to see lots of people, doing lots of crazy things as this car transverses our planet. For fun, I love typing in a random address and seeing what’s around. Think of it – you can explore strange new parts of our planet, without ever leaving your home! All you need is a computer and an address! So, if you can’t get there to see the real thing — it’s like a Star Trek holodeck, now you can have your own personal virtual tour!
