I love this thing!  Amazon continues to expand her by adding more skills that you can activate on a constant basis.  The Christmas carol skill (similar to an app) is just another example of the fun this device can have.

Alexa, the Amazon Echo computer speaker that acts as your personal assistant, joins Jersey Joe found a round of funny jokes. She can do more that just search Wikipedia, play music, and order Amazon products!

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

This is a really cool product and we’ve only just scratched the surface of what she can do.  It’s just like the computer on the USS Enterprise from Star Trek!  While she was primarily designed to help order Amazon products as your personal assistant, she can also play music, do Wikipedia searches, read the news & weather, and even put appointments on your calendar.  By adding more apps, Alexa can gain all kinds of skills from playing games to telling jokes.  It truly is amazing what technology can do — and I think we’ve just scratched the surface of what this product can do.

Google is working on their own competitive version for this fall.  It should be interesting to see what they come up with.
