You thought you had fun with my previous blog watching monkeys riding dogs?  Well, wait until you see what they are doing in New Zealand… dogs are actually driving cars!  And I think they drive better than most of us?  What do you think?  Take a look at this video and you decide…

THE 411

What: dogs driving cars

Where: New Zealand

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

You can teach dogs to do all kinds of things with enough patience.  I love seeing how they teach helper dogs to assist with the disabled, that’s more than a trick – that’s saving a life.  I remember seeing a new story where dogs were making copies, helping people get dressed, and even helping one guy make lunch!

We always had a dog growing up and they really can do a lot with the proper training.  It’s up to the owner to make it happen… and well, in New Zealand, it looks like they’ve decided to have them drive cars!

I wonder how high car insurance rates are for these canine drivers?

Jersey Joe takes a ride on The High Roller, the world’s highest observation wheel located in Las Vegas, Nevada.  But, being in Vegas – this isn’t just a ride on your typical Ferris Wheel.  Climb aboard with Jersey Joe and see what it’s all about.

THE 411

Name: The High Roller

What: World’s Tallest Observation Wheel

Location: The Linq, Las Vegas, Nevada

Opened: 2014

Purchase tickets: http://www.caesars.com/linq/high-roller.html#.VFhbDslG3To

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

This is definitely a ride for everyone… well, except those that have a fear of heights!  Honestly, this wasn’t scary at all.  Being enclosed inside the climate controlled pods, you actually lose all sense that you are on a Ferris Wheel.  This is one of a handful of family friendly attractions Vegas has to offer.  Give it time, I’m sure someone will get married on this thing at some point.

The views really are impressive and something that should be seen in person.  Next time, I’ll definitely have to check this out at night.  The price goes up, but Vegas at night is something to be seen.  Just make sure to put this on your list the next time you make a visit to Sin City.

Ready for a good laugh? Jersey Joe takes you to Las Vegas and checks out some of the crazy people and attractions!

THE 411

Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

What: gambling mecca of the United States

Time Zone: Pacific

Established: 5/15/1905

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

Las Vegas is definitely an adult’s playground.  Whether you like to gamble or not, or you are a high roller or not, there is plenty to do in the area.  Besides casinos, Vegas offers amazing shows, a diverse selection of dining, the mountains and desert attractions, and much more.  Those that are regular readers of this blog, will know that I don’t recommend taking kids under 21 to Vegas.  There’s some things for them to do, but it’s not Disneyland.

If you’re looking to do Vegas on the cheap, definitely consider a night or two downtown on Fremont Street, plus that’s where you’ll find some of the best gambling odds.

It’s hidden smack in the middle of an upscale New York City hotel.  Walled off behind red curtains, you would never even know it’s there… except for the occasional celebrity sighting!  The Burger Joint has become one of the Big Apple’s best kept secrets and Jersey Joe had to give it a try!

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

It’s definitely a neat place to visit and it’s cool to be in on a big New York City secret.  I just with that the burger I had ordered would not have been such a soggy mess.  Next time, I’ll go with a single cheeseburger and hold off on the works.

If you’re ever in the city, definitely check it out… just be advised – there’s never enough seats!

I honestly have no idea what these flying crafts are, but I made sure to capture my 2 on camera.  With everyone having a smart phone now, there’s no reason not to take a quick shot when you see something out of the ordinary.  Then, you can upload it to Twitter or YouTube and share your story.  Who knows – maybe others have just seen the exact same thing!

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

Would I ever check out another gathering of the cast? Absolutely!  I just wish that the talk had gone on for more than just 90 minutes.  Most of the people sitting around me, were a little shocked that it ended so abruptly.  Someday, I hope to travel to the big annual fan convention in Las Vegas and you can bet that I’ll be chatting all about it on here!

[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] The News is Wrong!

Recently, I was flipping through some new digital cable channels when I came upon one with a very unique newscast.  However, what was presented on screen was not totally the truth.  Take a look at this video and you’ll see what I mean!

THE 411

Name: Soul of the South News

Produced by: INN News

Airdates: 30 minutes daily

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

Newsrooms have to be careful about what they put in the teleprompter.  Little errors like this can turn into a big error if they start to question someone’s credibility or flat out make a false accusation.  They were lucky it was only a simple slip of the tongue by saying “I asked…” but this very easily could have ballooned up into a much more serious issue.

With web cameras, smart phones, and Youtube in this day and age — things like this are going to get caught.

It’s the sandwich lighting up social media – Jersey Joe checks out if all the  hype about the new Arby’s secret menu item – The Meat Mountain is the real deal.

THE 411

What: The Meat Mountain

Where: Arby’s restaurants coast to coast

Time: Limited time offering

Cost: $10 plus tax per sandwich

arbys meat mountain

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

This is a great idea on Arby’s part.  It all started off, when they posted a picture showing all of the meats they currently have for sale on a bun.  Customers started to ask for the sandwich and someone at the corporate office was listening.  Now, it’s become a win-win!

Arby’s gets all the free social media and web advertising and customers get to try a truly unique sandwich.  This will only on sale for a limited time, but this one will definitely be talked about for years to come.  Skip the diet – and give this at least a try!
