Taco Bell has taken a popular breakfast cereal and turned it into a warm, gooey dessert. So, is it worth you cash? See the unexpected surprise Jersey Joe got when he ordered his.

THE 411

Name: Cap’n Crunch Bites

What: dessert menu item

Where sold: Taco Bell restaurantsIMG_7046.MOV.00_00_07_02.Still001

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

These are great!  Very succulent!  Why not give them a try?

The price structure is very affordable to add on as a menu item.  I spent $1.89 for 4.  They are sold in packs of 2, 4, or 6.   They are kind of like eating a bowl of cereal.  You can definitely taste the fruity Cap’n Crunch in concert with the warm, icing filling is a perfect match.

I just wish they would have remembered mine with my order… and at least offered me something for a second wait in line for them.

Jersey Joe checks out the Action Movie App, where you can use special effects to blow up your friends, fly the USS Enterprise, create natural disasters, and more!

THE 411

Name: Action Movie FX

What: IPhone app

Cost: Free — in app purchases start at 99 cents

Website: www.actionmoviefx.com

IMG_6800JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

This is a great app.  It’s been around for a few years, so I pretty much figured that they had given up on designing more scenes.  I was completely surprised when a major update came out in mid-June, so I decided to share it with you.

There are a ton of similar apps out there, but this is the only one with official effects from the new Star Trek movies.  The official Action Movie FX app is only available for IPhones, but there are a ton of similar apps for Android devices.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

What do you think are the worst TV shows, ever?  Jersey Joe put that question out on Twitter and Facebook and got a ton of responses!

THE 411

What: Worst TV Shows ever

Type: Opinion poll

IMG_6581.MOV.00_00_13_23.Still001

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

The shows that I picked are just my opinion and judging by the good ratings that all three of my picks get — maybe I’m wrong.  But, I promise those are three shows you’ll never catch me watching.  It was killing me just to find these clips on Youtube!

So, what shows do you think are the absolute worst?

I could go on and on… it was hard to narrow it down to just three!

There’s lots of fun to be had on the Jersey Shore this summer and Atlantic City has plenty to offer. The casinos are open, along with the beach, and the Boardwalk. Jersey Joe and his friends hang out at a beach bar and bring you all the happenings in this special rebroadcast of a live web show.

THE 411

What: Atlantic City

Where: New Jersey

Year Founded: 1894

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

Atlantic City may have lost 4 casinos, but there’s more going on in town than just gambling.  The city continues to add additional attractions to bring the fun back to the shore.   It’s kind of neat to see the city in the state of transformation, as more attractions are added.  They just need to settle the mess with the Revel casino and fix that black eye.

Have you ever visited AC?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Have you ever had a package on?  My grandparents used this phrase all the time.  For a good laugh – share the meaning with your friends!

THE 411

What: Having a package on

Meaning: being over-intoxicated or drunk

Origin: Great Britain

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

It’s another one of those old school phrases that I have learned over the years from my grandparents.  So, have YOU ever had a package on?  Next time, you’re out for drinks with friends… see who is the first to say YES!

[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] A Walk Down New York City’s 6½ Ave

Jersey Joe explores a little known New York City street, 6½ Avenue.

6½ avenue is a pedestrian walkway that opened in 2012.  The first ½ avenue in Manhattan, it gives pedestrians a fast shortcut between 51st and 57th streets.  Adding stop signs, traffic lights, and crosswalks cost city taxpayers $60,000.

While many drivers complain that the ½ avenue stop signs tie up traffic, many businesses and restaurants have capitalized on the walkway, by adding outdoor seating and signage to direct pedestrians into their shops.

THE 411

What: 6½ avenue

Where: New York City

Location: between 51st and 57th Streets

Opened: 2012

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

It’s another one of those “only in New York” kind of things.  I’ve worked in the city for years, yet I had no idea this avenue existed.  I’ve passed by it dozens of times, never giving it a second thought.

Pedestrian only streets are a great idea and are becoming more popular and useful in New York.  While commonplace in many European cities, New York is quickly adopting many pedestrian only streets.  A big example is where several blocks of Broadway are now closed to traffic south of Times Square.

For me, this street is a great short cut and any time I can cross a street without having to look out for a speeding taxi cab is a winner in my book!

[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] Let’s Play the British Family Feud

Is the British version of Family Feud any different than the American version?  Let’s find out as Jersey Joe’s friends play a round of Family Fortunes!

Family Fortunes has been on the air in the United Kingdom from January 1980 – December 2002, and revived again under the title All Star Family Fortunes since 2006, where it is broadcast on Sunday evenings.

THE 411

Title: Family Fortunes

What: British version of Family Feud

Broadcast network: ITV

Number of episodes to date: 545

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

Les Dennis is certainly no Richard Dawson, but you know you have a good game show, when it’s super popular in other parts of the world as well.  It’s also neat to see, even though both of our countries speak English, the answers can be quite different.

I definitely want to try this again!

[Kicking Back with Jersey Joe] Cat on Lap with Dogs in Costume

You never know what you’ll encounter on the streets of New York City.  A few weeks ago, I happen to come across this guy just north of Times Square.  He was riding in a wheelchair, with a cat on his lap, blowing a whistle as his three dogs in costume came running behind… it’s the video you have to see!

The guy wasn’t really talking, he certainly wasn’t asking for money, but he was more than happy to let the crowd take all the photos and video they wanted.  In the end, he headed north on Broadway and back off into the busy rush hour crowd.

THE 411

What: random guy with animals

Where: New York City

JERSEY JOE RECOMMENDS:

If this was some kind of panhandler show, he certainly wasn’t asking.  Kudos to him though, for training his animals to obey his whistle commands on the busy street!  None of my pets would ever have listened that well, in the middle of all those people and traffic.
